Imagine having to offer a sacrifice every time you needed forgiveness! In Old Testament times one duty of the priests was to prepare the sacrifices for the people. Today, Jesus is our priest, having offered himself as the perfect and final sacrifice for our sins, and He goes to the Father and represents us before Him.
